Series: Heaven's Hymnbook (the Psalms)

Psalm 20 teaches battle confidence: God defends by setting on high, strengthens from Zion, fulfills heart desires – we stand while trusters in men fall.

Psalm 84 teaches sacred desire: highways of holiness in the heart, strength to strength through weeping valleys, no good thing withheld from the upright.

The Psalm extols the revelation of God in both the book of creation and the book of inspiration. The last section, the Psalmist is revived in response to God’s revelation.

God girds with strength, makes feet like hinds, teaches hands to break steel bows – then David bursts: “The LORD liveth! Blessed be my rock!”

Psalm 18 teaches gratitude in rescue: when sorrows of death compass and floods overwhelm, call upon the worthy One – He thunders, descends, delivers.

Psalm 17 teaches refuge in persecution: tried and found blameless, kept as apple of eye, hidden under wings, awakening satisfied in God’s righteousness.

David’s golden jewel reveals Messiah’s triumph: soul not left in hell, body seeing no corruption, ascending to pleasures at God’s right hand forever.

Who can dwell on God’s holy hill? Those who walk uprightly, bridle their tongues, honor the godly, and keep their word – they shall never be moved.

This message exposes atheism’s moral foolishness and mankind’s universal corruption, then celebrates God as refuge and the coming salvation from Zion.
